My name is Maris Clement. I’m a Licensed Family Therapy psychotherapist. I also have a Psy. D. in Clinical Psychology, that is a doctorate in working with clients/patients specifically. In my office, I like to provide a comfortable, compassionate, open atmosphere, in which to establish a safe place to talk about anything that is important to you. I like to provide a comfortable, compassionate, open atmosphere in which to establish a safe place to talk about anything that is important to you.
I am a Cognitive-Behavioral Therapist primarily. We will work on improving negative thoughts and behaviors. I also use Humanistic and Gestalt approaches. This means that in the first session, I will work with you to establish long term goals. After each session I usually give homework which consists of short term goals that you can work on during the week. Don’t worry there is no fail grade.
I like to take a practical approach to problem solving, confident that identifying, understanding, then changing problematic or destructive behaviors will change the way clients, think, feel and act.
We will work collaboratively, and I will help you to start achieving your own specific goals. My goal is to help you feel better about yourself and to have tools that will work for you in the present and the future. I enjoy working with creative people. If you don’t feel you are creative, I will help you to discover that you have creativity, and to discover that you soon will find ways to solve your issues. Please feel free to give me a call.
